Today, we build worlds at the speed of thought. Worlds that are virtual become blueprints for reality. But what are these worlds? A reflection of what we desire, what we fear, or both?
Studio Taskin is the practice of Taskin Goec, a Berlin based mixed reality designer who brings the principles of heritage craftsmanship into the digital landscape.
Physical craft meets machine intelligence. A collection built from real garments, analog experiments and generative technology. Today, designers shape their tools as much as their collections. There is no neutral position towards machine intelligence. We use it in our ways. We trained it on our own work, we direct it, we fight with it. The result carries the memory of something real and the weight of something that has never existed.
The show opens with NEW SUNS, a cycle of films by the Bewegtbildklasse at Universität der Künste Berlin. The body decorated, worshipped, trapped. Architecture that merges with flesh. Portraits of now, stylized until they become unbearable or beautiful or both.
The event is funded by the Economic Development Agency of Berlin’s Mitte District Office.
