With her installation “May Queen”, the performance artist Ma Li transforms production waste from the Berlin labels Máthé, Tata Christiane and Starstyling into a visual dream world that is inspired by tradition, mythology, rituals, folklore, pop culture and traditional Chinese handicrafts. With an exuberant approach, she creates floral elements and creatures that celebrate the "May Queen" of our time by upcycling the donated recyclables.
The room-filling installation is designed in such a way that it is corona-compliant through the large shop windows of Memhardstr. 8. The exhibition opens for the Gallery Weekend on April 30th. and can be viewed through the large windows until the end of May.
