The Upcycling Workshop, held as part of the Wool For Future days at PLATTE, was led by Gaëlle Martin. The knitwear designer Gaëlle has worked with brands like Gaspard Yurkievitch, Yves Saint Laurent, and Each x Other, and co-founded the Martin de Siqueira design studio in Berlin. She is also an active member of Platte.Berlin and the creator of her own label, Wolly Mallow, where she hand-knits cozy headbands, turbans, and tops.
In this workshop, Gaëlle introduced participants to the art of hand knitting and creative upcycling, teaching them how to repurpose leftover yarn in various colors and textures into unique and playful designs. The session blended sustainability, skill-building, and fun, inspiring attendees to view yarn scraps as valuable materials for new creations.
